Book Review - Dark Disciple (2015)

For years, the galaxy-wide conflict known as the Clone Wars has raged. The struggle between the rightful government of the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems has claimed the lives of untold billions. The Force-wielding Jedi, for millennia the guardians of peace in the galaxy, have been thwarted at nearly every turn by the Separatists and their leader, the Sith Lord Count Dooku. With the war showing no signs of ending, and the casualties mount- ing each day, the Jedi must consider every possible means of defeating their cunning foe. Whether some means are too unthinkable—and some allies too untrustworthy—has yet to be revealed...

This is the book that I point to when people asked how I got back into Star Wars publically as an adult. Christie Golden ripped out my heart, tap danced on it, then threw it into the Grand Canyon. Ventress is forever one of my favorite dark side force users so finding out the ending Clone Wars arc for her character was published as a novel instead of in the animated show's final season changed my DNA. We deserved more Quinlan and his take on the Jedi code and this book filled that gap for me.

5/5
